Bring a picnic lunch to the start at the shop. Tables and chairs set up. Heated or cooled depending on the outside temperature. Fun cars to look at including our race car! Shop opens at 11:30, we start the tour at 1:00.
100 miles and no freeway! Too many curves to count. Usually great weather (Yeah, it did rain one year) and a wonderful view of the south side of Mt. Saint Helens (most years)! Two potty stops. Four stops to get the tour together. Roads have been repaired in most bumpy places. Wonderful views of 9 lakes. A single lane suspension bridge way above one lake.........Over the river and through the woods! Fun stop at the Eagle Cliffs store, the store Bigfoot uses? Ice cream, snacks and a potty stop.
Tour usually breaks down into three groups: Those who want to exercise their cars lead, those who enjoy the curvy roads and the last group that concentrate on the beautiful views.
Finish at the best Pizza and beer joint with our own seating area. From the Pizza joint about 3 miles to Hwy 14 and a couple more miles to the Bridge of the Gods for those that want to use I-84 back to the Portland area.
