Here are the details for the upcoming Irvington Neighborhood Annual Home Tour Car Show. First, a little background. The Irvington Neighborhood Association hosts an annual tour of historic homes in the Irvington Neighborhood in NE Portland. It’s a fundraiser for the association and normally sells out quickly, even at a $40/head price. For the last few years they’ve had a few classic cars parked near the homes to add some additional interest. Our neighbor is one of the organizers of the home tour and he noticed our annual Coffee and Triumphs and Donuts event. He asked if we could get some Triumphs at the home tour, with an incentive of free tour tickets to those who participated. So here we are.
The date is Sunday, May 17th. The block that is closed to traffic is NE Thompson between 22nd and 23rd (marked in yellow on the enclosed map). The entrance to the street will be the corner of NE 23rd and Thompson (marked with red pointer). If you want to plug an address into your map app, you can use: 2229 NE Thompson.
There will be someone there opening the barricades for you to enter. They will give you the guidebook which gets you free entrance into the six houses (tickets are normally $40 each). There will be food carts and baked goods at the Irvington Club on the next block. There are also public restrooms in the Irvington Club. You are welcome to bring a table/chairs and any info about your car you'd like. There are also lots of food/lunch options on Broadway.
Ticket pick up starts at 10:30 and homes are open 11:00 - 5:00. There are also two heritage tree walks at 12:00 and 2:00. Ideally, cars would be there by 11 and stay for several hours.
Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll track down an answer.
Thanks!
